Shrivardhan is one of the oldest towns in Maharashtra(State in India). A holiday in Shrivardhan comes with several bonuses. Though less on magnificence and splendor, Shri Laxminarayan Temple has been associated with the Peshwas. How to get there ?
Your own car will help you to reduce travelling cost and you can stop in between to enjoy hills and waters around. Even from Pune or Mumbai, roads are well maintained and full of picturesque geographical features like hills, plateaus, plains, waterfalls etc. While travelling from Pune, you can opt to go via Tamhini ghat road.
Crossing mighty Sanhyadris(Western Ghats) and view of mountains around, while passing through ghat section will be your memorable experience.
Rickshaws and Six-Seaters are available for travel between Shrivardhan and Harihareshwar. There is also an availability of Maharashtra state transport buses, which provide connections to all neighbouring cities. Buses connect Mumbai (185 km), Pune (163 km), Harihareshwar (20 km) and Panvel (125 km). The nearest train station is in Mangaon, located 45 km away from Shrivardhan with strong connections throughout the Konkan coast to Pune and Mumbai.

Best time to visit Shrivardhan
Best season to visit Shrivardhan is in winters. From November to December you can experience maritime influence which reduced effect of chilly winters. Except for new year, cost of hotels and resort would be very low.
Next best season is early monsoon, in the month of july or august. Specially, if you want to enjoy rainy season of coastal area and see the way of live in high rainfall areas, August would be the time to visit.
At-least 3 days and 2 night stay at Shrivardhan will give real touch of the beauty, best for solo traveler or if you are with family or you want to spend some time in tranquility.
One thing special about Shrivardhan is its market. In a trio of Diveagar Rishikesh and Harihareshar beaches, Shrivardhan offers you the materialistic joy along with its asthetic beauty. Lord Ganesha temple is another place to visit in Shrivardhan.
Accommodation
Many new hotels with modern facilities are coming up in Shrivardhan. Besides that one can also get decent accomodation with locals at relatively cheaper price. By this means you can also enjoy taste of local culture and habitat. You can easily get a bungalow at around 800 to 1000 rupees for a night where 6 to 8 people can be accommodated. During peak season this rate can increase upto 2000 per night. (Rates may vary depending upon the season.)
